The fabulous ladies of Derby Lite are lead by the one and only Queen B (also known as Barbara Dolan). Once a fierce skater on The Fury on the Windy City Rollers league, Queen B founded a recreation league of skaters "old enough to know better" or just wanting to dip their toes in the world of roller derby without the hard hitting action of the big leagues. These gals practice many of the drills, moves, and scrimmages other derby leagues do, but with a low-key approach and lack of aggression common to the competitive leagues.
If you are curious about roller derby, looking to make a few new friends, want a fun way to shed a few pounds, are recovering from injuries, or are retired from your days as a Windy City Roller or Outfitter but not yet ready to hang up your skates, you might want to check these gals out. They also appear in suburban holiday parades, do local appearances and demonstrations, and are some of the nicest ladies with an edge you'll ever meet. Fishnets not required, but always welcome.
