Photo of the Day, April 1, 2009

This Monday's storm was a miserable, cold, sleeting mess we all simply hoped would quickly pass. Pass, it did. And the clouds moved along just in time for one of the most spectacular sights I'd seen in quite some time.

Initially, I was scrambling to get my camera swiftly enough to catch the gigantic rainbow the blazing sunset created. But as quickly as I could climb up the hill of abandoned railroad tracks behind my home, it was nearly gone. But all I had to do was turn around to capture this marvelous sunset and vibrant, billowing storm coulds.

Sometimes, I just can't help but marvel at the glorious beauty Nature creates. There is always beauty around us, often when we least expect it. It's such a privelage to capture and share these stunning, fleeting moments. Lucky timing helps too!
