Spring has sprung! Nothing signified spring more than blossoming trees, except maybe tulips and daffodils. This sun-worshipping tree was photographed two weeks ago at the Holland, Michigan Tulip Festival. With not one single puff of cloud in the sky, I just had to get at least one glorious photo of the crystal clear blue sea above us.
There were also a lot of tulips, naturally. However, the real spectacle of flowers were five miles north of the festival site, on a tulip farm. Unfortunately, the sprawling mecca of blossoms was crawling with thousands of tourists and required an eight dollar-a-head entry fee. I was not in the mood to pay to see nature, knowing I would not get one clean photo without people in it. So, we just purchased a few lovely plants for my sister's lawn, a stuffed kitty for my niece (she was NOT leaving Michigan without a stuffed cat), and some buffalo burgers from the adjoining bison farm.
Spring is a very exciting time of year, signifying hope, rejuvenation, life, and the anticipation of summer fun. Sometimes something so simple as a blossoming tree on a sunny day is all it takes to make me glow with happiness. It helped that my young niece was there holding my hand, too.
Keep looking up (just not directly at the sun)!!
Brigette
