I had the rare privelage of photographing newlyweds Jim and Kym getting their matching wedding ring tattoos as part of their marriage ceremonies. The tattoos echo the custom design they had etched on their wedding rings. On the inside of their left wrists, they can always look down and be reminded of their ever-lasting love. Each wedding I photograph has some unique detail or twist. I adore capturing incredibly creative, insiping moments like this one. It's another reason I love my job!
I submitted this triptych of photos to a professional wedding photography contest yesterday. Most of the other submissions were by super high-end Photographers with large staffs of employees to do fancy, heavy Photoshop work to every photo. While I am a bit intimidated to consider myself a part of this pool of talent, I am also confident my work speaks for itself. I am certain there is a market for my work: the people who appreciate creativity, talent, and a spirit of collaboration without paying insane boutique prices. My business goal has always been to appeal to the average person and make him/her feel they can afford and receive Fine Art in their photos.
Hope you like.
