Photo of the Day, November 29, 2008

Jim and Kym have been madly in love for years, and recently found the perfect way to "tie the knot" in their own unique way. They exchanged vows on a base camp on Mt. Everest. This act not only symbolizes their lust for life and adventure, but also their tenacious spirit to do things their own way. To top it off, the vows they exchanged were delivered by a Sherpa, inspired by Bhuddist teachings. Truly amazing and humble.

While I couldn't be on top of the world's largest mountain to capture that awesome moment, I was honored to be part of the "after-party"--photographing them with all of their loving family and friends back in Chicago. This particular photo shows their funky, playful personalities against the backdrop of Sweet Home Chicago. I like that it also seems as if there is a greater third party present: nature/the sun/a spirit/something that's brought and kept them together. Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic or romantic at the moment, but I like that idea. :) I am incredibly inspired by these two!

Cheers,
Brigette
